The road to professional sports is one of the most effective sociopath assembly lines in the world. Separated from their peers by talent as kids, pandered to as teenagers, and idolized as adults, today's college and professional athletes know that forgiveness is only one contrite press conference away. We keep track of their antisocial behavior and marvel at their sociopathleticism in the Sociopathlete Round-Up.

Sociopathlete: Sal Alosi, Strength and Conditioning Coach, New York Jets,
Former Linebacker, Hofstra

We learned today that Alosi has been suspended indefinitely (his suspension was previously scheduled to be up at the end of this season) when the Jets "found out" that he had ordered players to form a wall along the sidelines in order to impede Dolphins special teamer Nolan Carroll if he ventured out of bounds. Alosi stuck his leg out, tripped Carroll, and is now awaiting his sportsmanship award from Jets coach Rex Ryan. The other shoe may not have dropped in this case, since the notion of a strength coach taking it upon himself to order inactive players to interfere with punt coverage in an organized manner seems a bit far-fetched. If it came from above, or even from the top, this could place the entire Jets franchise in the pantheon of sociopathletics.

Sociopathlete: Sepp Batter, President, FIFA
Sepp Blatter is not an athlete, nor a former athlete. He's the president of FIFA, world soccer's governing body, and the organization behind the World Cup. He recently went public with what I assume he thought was some good practical advice when he cheerfully  told gay soccer fans not to have sex in Qatar during the 2022 world cup, since homosexual relations are illegal there. I wasn't going to include him, since even though he's the president of an organization that just handed the world cup to a country that governs its people in ways most countries outside the Middle East find completely unacceptable, since he doesn't actually play the sport itself, but then I found this. Sepp Blatter used to be the president of the World Society of Friends of Suspenders, an organization dedicated to stop women from switching from garter belts to pantyhose. He's also called for female soccer players to wear tighter shorts. Sepp, you're not supposed to say these things out loud. Think them, just don't say them.

Sociopathlete: Geno Hayes, Linebacker, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Hayes was arrested early Monday morning outside a nightclub in Tampa after an altercation with police. The arresting officer tried to taser him, but Hayes had a thick coat on, rendering the taser ineffective. It's truly a sad day when you think you're about to see a guy get electrocuted in the street and then the stun gun doesn't deliver. My thoughts are with the onlookers in this difficult time. As for Hayes, we don't know the specifics of the incident, so we can't judge too harshly. It's not like he gets paid a ton of money to play football and his team has a crucial late-season game this coming Sunday.
